Youth Groups

Junior High Youth Group

We recognize that during the Junior High years, our youth are beginning to develop their personal worldview and convictions.  To minister to these students at this critical time, the Junior High Youth Group provides opportunities for Christ-centered activities, teaching and dialogue. The students meet on the second and third Sundays of each month, after the worship service.

Our goal, through Scripture, discussion and prayer, is to help them understand who they are in Christ and the purpose for which He has called them. The important principle of reflecting the image of Christ through a life centered in Him is discussed. By sharing these principles we encourage them to allow the Holy Spirit to make a relationship with Jesus real in their lives. The fun activities help them build healthy relationships. This encourages open communication and sharing with one another during Sunday School and our annual retreat. The fun activities include picnics, skating, hiking and service projects. We also encourage them to help the younger children as helpers for the Children’s Ministries. This helps develop the gift of leadership. The most fulfilling and life-changing event is our annual 2-day retreat. The Holy Spirit ministers to the needs of the students during extended times of worship, fellowship, teaching and prayer.

Senior High Youth Group

The High School Youth Group is for young people in grades 9-12. We recognize the importance of this time in a young person's life for making decisions and forming their beliefs. Our hope and prayer is to see young people begin to function with Christ at the center of their lives, and to make decisions based on their love relationship with the Lord. With that goal in mind, leaders and youth meet the last Sunday of each month after the worship service for a time of prayer, discussion and fellowship. Often there are girls' and guys' Bible studies for this age group, and at times they also gather for cookouts, service projects, and retreats. It is our hope and prayer that the High School Youth Group will be a place where spiritual growth and preparation for the future will occur.
